Health Tips for Beginner’s

Hello everybody! I hope everyone is doing well! Today I wanted to go into a topic I am very passionate about and that is getting people into fitness. I wanted to create some health tips that people can reference to start their journey to an overall healthier lifestyle. I feel like today the fitness industry is very saturated and it gets confusing for someone that is just starting out, so I hope these health tips get you on the right track!

1. Don’t join the gym (or at least not right away)

I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out. The gym is an amazing place, but for beginners it can be very intimidating. It’s crowded, you feel like everyone is looking at you, and you have no idea where to start! That’s why I recommend keeping it simple at first. You need to develop the habit of incorporating exercise into your day. You should buy a pull up bar for your door, some resistance bands, and maybe a moderate weight set of dumbells. All this equipment is perfect to have at home because it doesn’t take up much space and the workouts you can do are limitless. You can build a great foundation of fitness with this equipment that will help you be successful moving forward.Once you build that exercise routine and you know that you will stick to it then it can be beneficial to look into a gym membership!

*We will be releasing workouts that contain only the equipment above on our instagram and on here every wednesday, so make sure to follow us!

2. Take it slow

I have seen so many people get all excited about getting into shape. They buy new gym clothes. They start cutting calories and run themselves into the ground working out all the time. However, this burst of motivation fades fast and they find themselves back to where they started. The key to starting a successful journey into a healthier life is consistency and the only way to be consistent is by doing things that you can maintain. With that being said you need to take it slow first. If this is something you are going to be doing for the rest of your life then there shouldn’t be a rush. Just enjoy the journey and chip away everyday. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish!

3. Find a Program (and stick to it)

If you are just starting out the best way to learn is by doing. I highly recommend finding someone that has been around fitness for a while and having them help you write a program for yourself. If you can’t find that then there are many helpful YouTube channels that give out great programming information. I highly recommend checking out Brian Alshrue. His videos are filled with amazing information and he even gives out free workout templates. If you would like something more personalized for your needs we can help you out as well! Contact us at strongdolloarblog@gmail.com. Now once you get this program it’s time to be mindful of what works for you and what doesn’t. This way in the future you’ll be able to piece together your own programming!

4. Don’t be too hard on yourself

Remember guys this whole thing is a marathon, not a sprint. You’re going to make mistakes. You’re going to slip up and that is okay. After all it is a lifestyle and as long as you never give up on yourself you will see the benefits!

Alright now it’s time to take these health tips get after it! I hope you take these health tips and start your journey to a healthier life! Make sure to let us know how you are doing! We love hearing from you guys!
