Welcome to our website and to the strong dollar team!
My brother and I decided to start this site because we saw the need to educate people on the importance of being healthy and smart with their money. We realized that the education system is flawed in the fact that they don’t set up individuals for being successful in the real world. That is why we wanted to step in and create a place where it’s a one-stop-shop to learn about the two things that we believe are the basis of an amazing life, fitness and finance. In order to understand how we got here, we need to tell you our story…. So here it is!
Fitness has been something near and dear to our hearts for our entire lives. It is how we bonded as brothers. We would head into the gym and push each other each day always trying to be better than we were the day before. I distinctly remember one summer where we would wake up early around 5:30 every morning just so we could go run sprints before Ryan (my brother) had to go to work. We weren’t training for anything at the time, but we just loved the mental push that it gave us. That’s what fitness was to us. It allowed us to take time out of our day and push ourselves mentally and physically. Working out became an integral part of our lives and we never looked back.
Where Fitness Meets Finance
My brother graduated from college in 2016 with his degree in finance. He never took his foot off the gas when he finished school. He found a job and kept moving up the ranks. There were times when he would leave his house at 6 in the morning just to commute to work and still be in the gym getting his work in when he made it home at 7 o’clock at night. He never let up and all the hard work paid off. He earned his CFP and has been working as a very successful financial planner for the last few years. His ability to utilize the discipline he gained from the gym in his professional life has led him to excel in his career. Now it’s time for my side of the story.
Where Failure Leads to Success
Growing up I played baseball and that is who I was. I dedicated my young life to that sport and I was good. However, that didn’t last forever. When I reached highschool injuries began to sideline me and my dreams of playing in college began to slip away. When this first happened I was devastated. My whole identity was wrapped up in the fact that I was a baseball player. I really didn’t know what to do next. This is when the gym started to fill the hole that baseball left behind. I decided to follow my heart and went to college to major in Exercise Science. While I was there I was exposed to so much. I was a research assistant working in the lab with my kinesiology professor, I worked with the division I track team as a strength and conditioning coach intern, and I even spent some time working in cardiac rehab as an exercise physiology intern. I loved everything about my degree. I just recently graduated magna cum laude and am excited to see where the world takes me. It just goes to show that good things can come from hard times!
When my brother and I looked back we realized something. There were so many kids that didn’t have a source to teach them about how to get ahead while they were young. We both wished that we knew then what we know now and that is exactly why we wanted to start this site. We want to inspire and educate young adults to take a hold of their lives and make the most out of every second. We want people that read this blog to get a jumpstart on their lives and never look back. Our hope is that we really can make a difference using the knowledge that we have gained over time. There’s no better time than now to make a change, so welcome to the team. This journey is just getting started!
