Morning Routine

Its 6 am and that piercing alarming starts ringing from your iPhone next to your bed. Maybe you hit snooze for just 10 more minutes and then 10 minutes fly by and that alarm comes back and you find yourself slamming snooze for another blissful 10 minutes and so the cycle continues. We have all been in this exact situation but for me, I had enough. I finally got sick of wasting my morning and waking up with no clear purpose for the day. My solution, Insert the morning routine! A morning routine sets the tone for the day and helps you stay on track with your goals and allows you to wake up each day with a set purpose.

Morning Routine Tip #1

Let us start at the beginning, the alarm clock set up. I like many of you, used to set my alarm clock on my nightstand for easy access. Then in the morning when that alarm went off I could basically hit snooze before it even went off. My solution to forced morning motivation was to move my phone to the dresser across the room. Now when the alarm goes off in the morning, I am forced to get out of bed and walk across the room to shut off the alarm. Even if I hit snooze its not worth it at this point, I am already out of bed so I might as well start my day.

Morning Routine Tip #2

Make your bed! The power of making your bed, cannot be emphasized enough. I find the easiest way to build self-discipline is by doing the smallest tasks every day without missing. The choice to make your bed every morning may seem irrelevant but by holding yourself accountable to making the bed, you are building personal discipline. As you go throughout the day you will begin to notice other tasks, whether at work or home, where you can hold yourself accountable. As you begin to realize you have the internal discipline to take on more tasks you will see amazing personal development and it all started by making your bed!

Morning Routine Tip #3

MOVE! My final tip for a perfect morning routine is to get some exercise in when you first wake up. I love getting up and after making the bed throwing on my shoes and going out for a nice walk in the morning. You don’t have to do any crazy workouts, just get up and move. I love walking because it allows me to get some blood moving and also allows me to develop my mind while I’m exercising. How you might ask? I love podcasts and I am going to do a post on my top 5 but the amount you can learn for free from some of the best and the brightest in the world has been incredibly impactful in my life.

Well, there it is, the steps to a great morning routine. Put your phone in a place that forces you out of bed, then make your bed, and go for a walk. As simple as it sounds if you implement these steps and stick with it, you will see amazing improvements in your life. Let us know how it goes, we would love to hear about your morning routine!

Have a great week everyone!!
